[ well I've been out walking ]

That was the best show I've seen in San Francisco. I ended up going by myself because Brad decided to go see Mission of Burma instead (why do they have so many shows on the same night during Noisepop?).
The night opened with Still Flyin', a 15 piece ska band. One member of the band didn't sing or play an instrument. He just danced around on stage.
Next was Smoosh, who were excellent in a technical sense, but the drummer didn't seem to be having fun. Not that she was having a bad time, it just seemed like she was focused on the technical aspects of the music rather than having fun. She wasn't able to leverage synergies (heheh, that sounds like business speak) with her sister.
Aqueduct started out strong and ended strong with a rendition of Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta that Jason Hammel of Mates of State sang with them.
Mates of State actually made quite a few musical errors, but it didn't matter because the crowd was having such a good time. They (like always) were able to leverage their synergies and Kori played a few of their songs on keyboard rather than on the electric organ. They ended the show with their cover of These Days.
Anyway, I'm going to go rant about how hard it is to buy mp3s online on my other blog.
